I don’t know about you - but I know I have a ton of old shoes with nothing interesting to do with them until now. Sarina the awesome Nerd Craft Librarian posted this great way of kicking life into your shoes. Yes. Pun intend.
Painted Shoes Tutorial
Why not try this to turn old shoes into your new cosplay creations. Why not add a few different colors. Or paint on a few designs from your favorite games or shoes. You know you want your own pair of Ravenclaw shoes. Well… I do anyway.

If you are like me, you often wish that your cupboards could also be bigger on the inside. Fortunately SHIFT was inspired by our favourite building tools and created a great way to save space.

LEGO Brick Spice Rack

Try making a few in different colours and stacking them on top of each other. Don’t feel restricted to large bottles either. This project works great for smaller spice bottles as well. For an added function, you can use this to store small craft room supplies, loose tea, hardware like nails or screws or office supplies like paperclips, push pins and staples.

Want your own custom nerdy mug? Nerd Craft Librarian has a great, easy tutorial that can help you turn a plain mug into something personal and geeky just for you. Can I also suggest that it makes a great personal gift for someone you love.

DIY: Sharpie Mugs

Nerd Craft Librarian uses Harry Potter as her inspiration - but I’ve added some other sharpie mug examples to help inspire you to make your own cool design.

EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS
So … Az and I are in a bit of a situation. It’s slowly been building and I’m finally setting aside my pride to ask for some help.
I was laid off a while ago and haven’t found steady work yet. Az is on medical leave and can’t work full-time for another month or so. We’ve been doing our best to budget food, mortgage, bills, loans, etc. but we’ve had a few unexpected vet visits. Our cat, Nile, had dental surgery done and both he and Ruby, our other cat, needed their vaccinations. Our old ferret Oline has developed onset insulinoma, which required emergency vet care last night and complete blood work today. We always make sure we have enough for unexpected vet costs because our pets take priority, but it’s the cherry on top that has stretched our savings too thin.
As you can guess, I’m not just asking for donations. I want to work so I’m doing commissions. There’s a wide range of prices and though I wish I could lower them, I just can’t afford to. I have a couple commissions in progress and con season is upon us which means LOTS of prep work but I promise you that even if it takes a little while, I will finish your commission. You have my word.
Prices and info are on my portfolio. You can view my work there as well as here and here.
We also have an Etsy shop if you’re more interested in unique geeky accessories, prints, pins, etc: Blind Leviathan
If you’ve got any questions or whatever else, my email is graciekaylor@gmail.com. Thanks so very much and please signal boost if you can. I’d really appreciate it! ♥

Hey guys, the girl who was kind enough to do a background for this blog is in need. She is really talented and open for commissions to help cover some pets emergency care.

The bad thing about creepers is that they explode. The bad thing about paper craft is that is doesn’t explode (If you do actually have the ability to make exploding paper craft, I would really like if you could grab Gambit’s autograph for me).  Luckily AlbinoMoose308 gave us a way to make your creeper paper craft more …err… authentic.
Exploding Paper Creeper
Be warned - this project involves the use of firecrackers and there is actual danger risk involved. Please take all precautions you normally would with any form of firework.

Here is a great idea submitted by loquaciouscupcake.
"I made a decoupage comic book table. All I used was glue, spray paint, mod podge, scissors & comic books (which cutting up comics is upsetting, I know), but it turned out pretty awesome!)"
You can create the same effect with any old table!
1. Spray paint the table a single colour of your choice.
2. While it dries -cut out all the images you would like to use from your old comics/manga books. Or you can print some of your favourite comics/manga/anime images on your computer from a coloured printer.
3. Use craft glue or modpdge to paste the images to the table top. Allow to dry thoroughly.
4. Apply 2 to 3 coats of modpodge over the entire table surface to seal it in and now you have your own comic book table!-Crafts4Geeks

iamsotalented submitted this great gem on how you can create your own dragons egg from polymer clay! Check out the other likes to iamsotalented's other projects as well.

Dragon egg from Game of Thrones1. Shape an egg out of modeling clay (I used Fimo clay)
2. Roll out another piece of clay, make it flat and thin
3. Cut a lot of small triangles out of this piece of clay, these will be scales
4.Stick them to the clay egg, leave some space without scales on the bottom of the egg
5. Stick some small pieces of clay to the bottom of the egg and use paintbrush to make it lumpy, bepowder it with with glitter (only the part without scales)
6. Bake it in the oven, the temperature and time depends on the type of clay, when you use Fimo, it’s 30 minutes in 110 ‘C.
7. Paint it.
8.Become a Mother of Dragons

If like me, you have ever been accused of drinking too many cans of pop - now you can put all of those naysayers to shame by converting all of your pop cops to chainmaille! Well quixotiCfluX  have written you all the easy to do steps to create your own recycled chainmaille creations.

Genuine chainmaille from pop tabs

Taking on this project is great fun. A great DIY to take on after you have your first spring BBQ.

"My (far too comfy) Iron Throne Bean Bag"
Now you can sit on the Iron Throne yourself - without the risk of being incredibly uncomfortable, getting cut or dying. Well pixeldragon has made a fantastic tutorial so you too can sit on the iron throne.
Iron Throne Bean Bag
This looks so amazingly comfortable and how you get the back to stand up on it’s own is perfectly clever.
